It’s time for another round of awkward engagement photos with Meredith Lambert and Kevin Banogon! This time the location is the Kirby Storter Boardwalk in the Big Cypress National Preserve. And the purpose was to get images that could than be used for the Save the Dates for our wedding.

We wanted to capture some photos of the two of us surrounded by the type of environment we love. So we chose a swampy forest of cypress trees!

The photos were once again taken by our friend Alicia Doroteo, of Bitmellow. While the styling of the shoot was by our friend Jessica Estrada of Fashion Narrative.

This photo shoot was much more exciting to do! Being in Big Cypress National Preserve is always a delight, but getting dressed up and taking engagement photos while we are there makes it even more exciting! There is not wonder why we chose to go with these photos for our final Save the Dates.

It doesn’t seem to matter how many pictures we take together, we always seem to need at least one or two awkward photos to break the ice. In some cases the awkwardness is persistent throughout the photo shoot, but let’s hope this is not the case when it comes to our wedding day!

The best part of having friends take your engagement photos is the level of comfort. While it is true that a very comfortable air can be established with a professional photographer, it is nice to be able to relax a bit and have a laugh with your friends while taking some nice pictures.

The peace and calm that can be found in the swamp is unlike any other serenity. The landscape buries you within itself and blurs any signs of recognition through relentless repetition. Therefore all you can focus on is the person you are there with or yourself. It is a silent and calm scenery.

It was a hot day in the Everglades while we took these pictures, but this little guy found the best way to escape the heat. This young alligator hung around in the shallow water of the dry season throughout the afternoon. He seemed to taunt us with his obvious comfort.

The setting is a beautiful backdrop. My favorite is the second to last one before the alligator. Florida doesn’t give us the mountains or waterfalls, so we usually capitalize on the shoreline. With you and Kevin in the foreground the park looks majestic and serene.
